Tasa had gone to her quarters only long enough to get Liam settled into his crib for a nap. Before long, she'd returned to sickbay. It was good to be back in her blue uniform, though she still managed to feel just a little out of her element. After all, this was only her first official day on the job as AMO. And the CMO had to have gone and gotten pneumonia. Well, nothing like a crash-course for the first few weeks. It was like her first week as CNS on the Phoenix. Nothing she couldn't handle, despite a healthy dose of... not really self-doubt so much as a certain slight underestimation of her own abilities.
"Alright, Ivery," she said as she came into sickbay again. "Status report. How are you feeling?"

While she had gone to her quarters he took the opertunity to change, but not without a nurse watching his every move. The nurse then escourted him to the bed and laid him down. His body seamed to ache all over as he laid there stairing at the cealing. This was a position he was unacustom to. His AMO retured with her normal upbeat nature which made him smile on impulse before answering her question.
"A whole lot worse then when I was standing, but I think I can manage, and I think you can manage having a Doctor for your first offical case to work on. "
The nurse was standing on the other side of the bed waiting to start the treatment as she wasn't going to overstep the good Doctor on this case. Ivan coughted a little and then sighed.
"Alright, I'm just as terrable as I was when you left no change in the coughing. Just the chills every once in a blue moon."

She nodded. "Well I suppose it could be worse," she said, grinning back at him. "Thankfully pneumonia usually responds well to antibiotics." Crossing the sickbay, she went to a tray and began preparing a hypospray. "Where do you want it?" she asked, her back turned toward him.

His voice sounded a bit fluid filled as he spoke to her, "You should inject in the area that would most directly attack the illness reguardless of." He then coughed deeply for a while, "Reguardless of were it would be prefered to be given at." He gave the nurse his glasses which she took to his office and he rubed his face. "This is not where I wanted you to see me at. Flat on my back and sick."

"Oh, nonsense," Tasa replied, moving to his bedside with the hypo. "Do you think I think any less of you for getting sick?" She gave him a smirk. "Besides, who else would you want playing Doctor with you?" She was only joking to keep his spirits up. She was still having difficulty accepting the loss of Alex, the father of her child. And she didn't know where things stood with Al. Adding another interest to the list would be a strain she didn't particularly need right now. But she did like the Doctor. He was a good person, easy to talk to, and mentally they were on the same playing field. Not to mention he was so good with Liam...
"This won't hurt a bit," she said, placing the hypospray at the base of his neck and injecting the antibiotics into his system.

His head instinctivly went to the side so to give her easy access to his neck, "I sure hope that they don't hurt." He chuckled a bit and coughted, "Sorry that happens. How's Liam been since I last saw him? Oviously he's doing well at the moment."
To him the whole exsperance was refreshing he was getting to know her more intamently without having to try or think for that matter. He knew she was invovled with another man and resepcted that so just kept the questions more superfical.

"Oh, he's doing wonderful," she said, her face lighting up the way it always did when she talked about her son. "No attacks in over a month. He loved visiting his grandpa while I was studying, and he's learning so many new signs every day... He said "mama" for the first time a week ago." Her proud grin spoke volumes. "He's growing up so fast, I can hardly believe it."

"He seams to be becoming quit the little man for his age. Communicating so quickly with the world around him." He paused for a moment, "Sorry thought I was going to cough. Making his Mother proud of all he's doing. It pleases me to hear he's doing well with his condition well under control."
He shivered a bit, "Blast this bacteria keeps getting the best of me at times. I can't read the readings on anything so you don't have to worry about me hovering over your shoulder. That is unless you want me to give adivse or something like it verbally. I had the nurse take my glasses to my office so I wouldn't be tempted to be over bearing like us Doctors can get when sick." She smiled at her.

She laughed. "Well thank you for that consideration. And don't worry, we'll get rid of the infection in no time. You just relax and let me take care of everything."
((ack, sorry so short... there was a hatching on one of my other sites and I had to write up all the babies and choose hex-codes for them and everything... the muse is a bit wiped out atm))

He took a deep breath, "I think I can handle that. For the moment. Might be more difficult later down the road." His eyes started to droop. "Just nudge me if you need anything from me." He then yawned, "Good night. Don't work too hard or there will be two of use in here."

He slept peacefully for a while. His body relaxed on the bio bed and breathing normally. That is till there was a dream that had him spooked it was in the middle of the night so he was sure that the AMO would be with her son or even in quarters. That is what his logical side said. His emotional one was making his heart race as he was fearing for his life. His body sweat and trembled for a good long while before he woke up sitting streight up in the biobed. Almost screaming out in pur terror.
When his vision cleared all it would he found himself in sickbay. He sighed and laid back down coughing rather hard in the proces. His current upper respatory aliment was taking a toll on his emotional self. He was not liking being so close to work but not able to do any. But at the sametime he understood why his nightmare began. It was a flash of the past and he needed to let himself be settled for a while.

She was asleep in her quarters, dreaming of her home back on Betazed when some images popped into her head that wasn't of her home. She got flashes of images and felt a fear so profound, she thought it was her own
Mentally she came awake and searched out the source of the feelings and images. She found herself entering sickbay and seeing Doctor Kestra tossing and turning on a bio bed, trying to shake off the dream. She tried to call out to him, but he couldn't hear her
Willing herself awake, she woke up and searched for a robe to put on. Once she found one, she raced out of her quarters toward sickbay, presuming the corridors would be clear at this time
When she entered sickbay, she found the doctor awake, and couphing pretty bad. She grabbed something for his lungs, an anti-inflammatory, to help ease the couphing. She went over to his side and pressed the hypo to his arm "Are you alright?" She asked him "I couldn't help but oversee that dream of yours. I am here to talk about it, if you want" She offered, going into full counselor mode, but another part of her wanted to take him into her arms and comfort him

He gasphed a few times then focused his attention on the voice the best he could. His glasses in his office and his sight not that great he spoke, "I'll be...alright."
The medican kicked in and he felt his breathing ease and his body relax against the bio bed. He then heard her speak about his dream how she oversaw some of it. He could tell by her voice it was the consoler of the ship that had come to his aid and was now wanting to help him more. "I can't talk about it here. It is too personal for the walls of the profession I have chosen to take in life. Its early in the morning but I was going to be relaced today to my quarters to recover the rest of the way. I am sure that the Doctor will not mind me checking out earlyer then anticipated if it means my mind be at ease."
He then pointed to the office, "My glasses are in there as are my cloths. You can bring me both and I'll be able to go to quarters to speak to you more freely about the exsperance then what I could here." He was still gasphing a bit, "One more week and I should be back on duty."

She looked around the sickbay, seeing it was rather deserted except for a couple medical staff, herself and Dr. Kestra. She focused back on his, letting him catch his breath and tell her that he would be fine. She was relieved to hear that but didn't show it in her expression
She listened as he explained that he couldn't talk about there openly in sickbay and she was about to suggest going to her office or her quarters when he mentioned that he was going to be released to rest in his quarters. She nodded. His quarters seemed a good place as well "If your assistant does have a problem, I will just tell her then I needed to borrow you to discuss a personal matter" Which is pretty much the truth. Something was bothering him and she wanted to help him
She turned and followed where he pointed too, listening as he told her that his clothes and glasses are in his office "I will get them" She told him, turning to go into his office where she saw his clothes, neatly folded and his glasses. She grabbed the items and then returned to him, placing his glasses in his hand "Would you like me to help you dress or would you like a private moment?" she asked innocently

He didn't put on his glasses right away, "If you wish to stay you may. I am sure it is nothing you haven't seen before in your work." He then put on his glasses and put the cloths on the biobed standing to his feet to dress. "That and I am not as of yet to my fullest strenght, so it would probally be best you be around me when I'm to be on my feet."
