He walked back to his office his mind on the coming missions they would have. This beq, and ship would bring honor and glory to the Empire. This he was sure of.

Entering his office he sat down behind the desk, opening his termial he saw the new beq, and read his service record. Greeting him was a job for R'awl. Unlike his Federation counter parts this was a task the XO handled.

He begin to read the few reports that came in.

He looked at a new message as it appeared on his console. He grunted and began to check into some research that would be needed.

There was another beep on his console and he saw it was from the fleet admiral. He smiled in anticipation that it would contain the orders he was eagerly awaiting.

HoD Du'Ralle

You are to take the bortaS out to qu'vat sector, proceeding to the training facility to test the ship and crew. From there after making sure the ship is up to our standards, you will proceed to Qu'Vat and show a presence there. There has been complaints of pirates. Unlikely but it must be checked out.

Qapla on your first mission and on the test for the bortaS.

He sat back for a few minutes, then immediately researched the planet. A well prepared Commanding officer is one who will meet with success.

He tapped on his com and called for his R'awl, and told him to report to his office but while he waited he called up the images of Qu'Vat.

He placed this in an easy position to be accessed when Kurn arrived.

He then read the brief file on it. In the mid 22nd centry it was an outpost with only 2 minor settlements. It became a political hot zone. In 2154, a group of Human Augments led by Malik attempted to deploy biogenic weapons against the Qu'Vat colony to incite war between the Klingon Empire and Earth.

He sat back thinking probably to create enough distraction to allow for then to get into power. Makes sense, foolish but there are more fools then not at times. He got another rakajino and returned to his study.

A stolen BoP was in orbit and destroyed by Archer, however he did not finish the task. On Qu'Vat a few embroys of the augments remained. and were retrieved by the Klingon government. Then over the next few months, a Klingon scientist named Antaak studied and replicated the altered DNA, creating Klingon Augments and unwittingly unleashing a lethal airborne plague throughout the Empire.

Taking a sip he shook his head only a scientist would be so foolish as to unleash such a plague. They have thier place but need to excise more caution at times. And when they don't a warrior must clean up the mess they left.

Finally a treatment was discovered and a stalemate drawn between Klingon and Earth forces, saving Qu'Vat colony from destruction. Which was ordered to save the rest of the Empire.

Seems 2 Federation ships in orbit was responsible for stopping the destruction of Qu'Vat. Earth such strange people. At first they worked with Admiral Krell to destroy it then worked to save it.

He sat back complating the information and waited for Kurn.

Hearing the HoD's order for him to come he picked up the beq's orders and walked the short distance to his office.Once there he rang the alert and waited.

Hearing the chime he looked up, "Enter, sit down."

He heard HoD Du'ralles orders and walked in and took a seat.He said nothing the HoD would inform him why he was there.

"What do you have with you?" he asked pointing to the padds.

"HoD Duralle these are the orders and files on each new beq.I have gone over them and talked to each one.I pay less attention to what their orders say and more to what they said.The beq is very confident and eager.Some have been on another ship before and others this is their first assignment."

"All seem to be ready and are as you have seen in the mess hall are forming into a true beq.M'Kota the Main Engineer has caught my attention I noticed when talking to her she had grease on her uniform telling me she had already began her work.But the others are doing well and I see no problems at this time."

[HoD Du'Ralle]

He nodded as Kurn spoke, listening closely.

"Maj, I called you to tell you we will be leaving in a few hours. Here," he turned his screen to face Kurn. "Our orders are here, along with a background and images. Study them for a minute."

Looking at the orders and the maps pulled up by HoD Du'ralle for a few minutes."Qu'vat sector training grounds.That is a very maj site to test the bortaS and the beq will find it a challenge indeed I have been there HoD."

"Pirates near Qu'Vat if that is true they are either very brave or very foolish perhaps both since they would have to know the Empire would not stand for their presence."Smiling,"This is a maj test for the bortaS and the beq."

"Hija, on both observations. And if the reports of pirates prove to be accurate, they will not live long enough to be a problem much longer. Fools who will die a fools death." he said smiling.

"And it will show what this beq is like in a real situation. Which as we know is differnent then a test."

[Ra'wl' Kurn]

"Hija HoD real combat is very different than a testing grounds.Both have merit but the true test that will show the metal of the beq would be if we did encounter pirates.It would be the start of the great battles the bortaS will become known for."

He himself could feel his hearts beating at the thought of encountering pirates.He knew it would be his chance as well as the rest of the beq to show he was worthy to serve under HoD Du'Ralle.

He nodded, "Was thier any who showed signs of... cowardice or inability to be a maj warrior?"

"One Hod Du'ralle an assistant Engineer his name was Ku'lar (NPC)he never met my eyes with his and jumped at my every word.Other than that I saw no problems with any other."
