ECF Directives Acceptance Pledge
I, Ilyana Petrovitsa Borina hereby accept and promise to abide by as well as uphold all the Directives of the Exploratory Crews of the Federation.
HISTORY---Born on Novi Kiev, a human colony that strictly regulates the use of advanced technology, Ilyana was one of the small group of students sent off-world each year for advanced education and to prevent their culture from becoming isolated. Ilyana continued on into advanced studies, completing her first doctorate by the age of 22, and chose to take a position as a professor at a Federation university rather than return home, as a few always did. While these can visit freely, they cannot return to Novi Kiev to live without special permission.
Ilyana became a leading, if controversial, expert in her field. Due to this, she took an extended “leave of absence” from her university. Her reputation and record in disaster response and new treatments for stress was sufficient for Star Fleet to accept her despite reservations about her unorthodoxy and her outspoken criticism of some orthodox counseling methods. Ilyana was delighted to be assigned to the USS Intrepid, and looks forward to pursuing her multidisciplinary research of the cultures they encounter, as well as the opportunity to fish whenever, and wherever, possible. Recently, she sent in her resignation to university, making her choice of Star Fleet a permanent one.
