"forty-two" FawThawly smiled as the captain and the Counselor traded wit. Of course Penny had to chime in also, mimicing her 'owner' and then out doing her by saying it twice. "Comes from a series of Books by the 20th century Terran Author Douglas Adams. Supposedly the answer to the question of 'Life, the universe, and everything. Of course they say that if the answer and the question are known at the same time, the universe will simply cease to be and be replaced with something even more strange and bizarre.. " She paused for a mischivous grin, "and then there are those that say it has already happened."

"One set of books I do need to read sometime," Artasa said with a laugh. "Perhaps I can ask my dad to find them for me." She finished her drink and pushed the glass aside. "In any case, it was nice meeting you both, but I really must get back to sitting on my hands all day." She grinned and stood, waving to the both of them as she left the lounge.

"A pleasure indeed, Ms. Avery. Perhaps I may take you up on your offer... you seem mostly harmless.
My first Captain suggested those books to me a long time ago, Admiral. Said they give a good outlook on humankind in general. He was right."

"mostly Harmless?" She chuckled some, "I would hardly call the one race in the Universe who has done more to reshape it in their image than any other. Even the borg would be jealous, not that they would admit to it." FawThawly seemed to give a short lived look of distaste as she said 'Borg' as if she had eaten something distasteful, but then, most of the El-Aurian race had been wiped out by the collective not too long ago.

Kia blinked at mention of the borg, the faintest glimmer of amusement crossed her eyes.
"The borg do not like me much.. Not after the last time."

"I imagine not," She brought her vision back to the here and now. "probably about as much as I dislike them." FawThawly let it drop though, saying no more on the subject, she had her plans, they would someday come to fruition.

"Oh I'm not exactly popular with them..."
She did grin at that, the memory still vivid.
"I haven't heard alarm klaxons, explosions, or other calamities, which means Kaitlyn is up to something..."
Laughing softly, she watched Penny for a moment.
"Is it difficult to train them?"

"train, train, train..." Penny eyed the Kiwi up, trying to judge if it was worth trying to fly to the stranger, or just look cute and hope that she came to her. Eventually the Grey decided that it was too much work to fly.
"It depends, sometimes I am unsure who trained who." FawThawly laughed and reached out for Penny to climb up onto her hand.

Entering into the lounge, Matt would allow his Sapphire-blue eyes to survey the room and its' inhabitants. There were a few faces he knew, though most he had not become acquainted with. Moving forward towards Captain Makihia, a roguish grin would spread across his lips as he approached her. "Good Evening, Captain. How's the Phoenix treating you?

She walked a little stiffly back into the lounge, it was two days since they let her out of sickbay, and going back to the Phx right now meant hovering crewmembers. Finding a comfortable spot where she could watch the door she settled into a chair.

Matt would have followed shortly after Kia. Having stood by her side to ensure that nothing happened to her in Sickbay, he still felt somewhat like a sentry. While he had no doubt that under most circumstances Kia could take care of herself, she wasn't in the best of positions in case anything else happened.
"Would ya like somethin' to drink?"

She grinned up at him, half knowing he'd follow.
"What I want, they don't serve here. I got it back on the Phoenix...water I guess. And thanks.."

He couldn't help but smirk at that. Giving a mock-salute, his tone heavily sardonic, "Aye-aye ma'am." Walking to one of the wall replicators within the lounge; "One ice water and one dragon fruit juice." Taking the two cups as they materialized, he'd hand the water to her and sip upon his drink as he sat down.
"How is your leg doing? You don't seem like the kind to take pain killers and, even with your own skills, I'm sure the wound is feeling pretty bad."

Grinning at the 'salute' she just shook her head him.
"Pain meds don't do anything except slow reflexes. It hurts.. But its nothing I haven't dealt with before. Compared to some things it feels fine. The trick with pain is accepting it as part of you even for just a short time. You'll be able to work through almost anything once you master it. Unfortunately to master it you have to be in a constant state of pain until you over come it. Its standard training for an Agent... She just caught me off guard."

"An agent, caught off her guard? Doesn't that go against most of the principals you were taught?" Grinning, he sipped again upon his drink. After a moment. "Vulcan nerve training teaches one to overcome most pain... but it isn't full-proof and it also requires for you to experience a lot of pain to perfect it. Not one of the more memorable aspects of my childhood training.."
